    RangeVault ("we", "us", or "our") is a corporation incorporated under the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada. We operate the website at rangevault.io (the "Site"), the web application at app.rangevault.io (the "App"), and sell physical products through our online store (collectively, the "Services").

    This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our Services. By using our Services, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

    1. Information We Collect

    1.1 Account Information

    When you create an account, we collect:

    • Name (first and last)
    • Email address
    • Country
    • Temperature unit preference

    Authentication is handled by Auth0, a third-party identity provider. We do not store your password. Auth0's privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policy.

    1.2 Shooting Performance Data

    When you use the App, you may voluntarily provide:

    • Shotgun, choke, and ammunition configurations
    • Pattern analysis data (images, pellet counts, density, point of impact)
    • Competition scores and bird-by-bird results
    • Competition series and event details
    • Weather and location information associated with sessions

    1.3 Order Information

    When you purchase products through our store, we collect:

    • Shipping address
    • Billing information (processed securely by Shopify Payments)
    • Order history

    Payment processing is handled by Shopify. We do not store credit card numbers or full payment details on our servers.

    1.4 Automatically Collected Information

    When you visit our Site or use the App, we may automatically collect:

    • IP address
    • Browser type and version
    • Device type
    • Pages visited and features used
    • Referring URL

    2. How We Use Your Information

    We use your information to:

    • Provide, maintain, and improve our Services
    • Process and fulfill product orders
    • Manage your account and subscription
    • Analyze your shooting patterns and provide performance insights
    • Send transactional communications (order confirmations, account notifications)
    • Send commercial communications about our products and features, where you have consented
    • Respond to support requests
    • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse

    3. How We Share Your Information

    We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:

    • Auth0 (Okta): For authentication and identity management
    • Shopify: For product catalog, shopping cart, and payment processing
    • Microsoft Azure: For cloud hosting, data storage, and email delivery
    • Stripe: For subscription billing

    We may also disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental regulation, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

    4. Data Storage and Security

    Your data is stored on servers hosted by Microsoft Azure in North America. We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest to protect your personal information. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

    5. Data Retention

    We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our Services. Your shooting data retention depends on your subscription tier (15 days for Free, 2 years for Member, unlimited for Pro). If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

    6. Your Rights

    You have the right to:

    • Access the personal information we hold about you
    • Correct inaccurate personal information
    • Delete your account and associated data
    • Export your data (available for Member and Pro subscribers via CSV export)
    • Withdraw consent for commercial communications at any time

    7. Commercial Electronic Messages (CASL)

    In compliance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), we will only send you commercial electronic messages (such as promotional emails, feature announcements, or marketing content) with your express or implied consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time by:

    • Using the unsubscribe link in any commercial email
    • Updating your email preferences in the App
    • Contacting us at support@rangevault.io

    Transactional messages (order confirmations, account security alerts, subscription changes) are not considered commercial messages and will continue to be sent regardless of your marketing preferences.

    8. Cookies and Tracking

    Our Site and App use essential cookies and local storage for functionality such as authentication tokens, shopping cart persistence, and user preferences. We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

    9. Children's Privacy

    Our Services are not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete that information.

    10. Changes to This Policy

    We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of our Services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
